This book is a colourful - often hilarious - account of a very low-budget overland tour from London to New Delhi. It's a glimpse of a World that is largely gone now, due to warfare, COVID, and other disasters. It's well-written, funny, and magnificent read for anyone who has ever dreamed of seeing the real World

This book is brilliant, exciting, funny, and definitely worth buying. I hope he brings out another; I couldn't stop reading it.

For all those travellers who set off during the 1970s on their personal journeys to India and beyond, at a more innocent time when borders could be crossed and every day was an adventure to be written up in one's diaries, this is a ‘must read’! It brings back warm memories of a pre-internet and pre-mobile phone age, and creates fresh dreams & a yearning to go back on the road, to try and bring a sense of order into the cynical world in which we now live
JJ Aston
Anyone who loves an adventure will enjoy this book. The easy conversational style of the author makes it a pleasure to read. It is a sobering reminder of how much the world has changed in the last half century. A good holiday read!
